Peter B. Zenoah 260 Engine
I ran it in the Spring Nats and it ran great. Tracked straight and was quick with a stock motor in it.
It kept up with the pack with no problem. Being a new boat untested in a major event, I did not want to mix it up with anyone
so I stayed away and just tested during each round in race conditions. No Video at this time.
I'll be going to the Gas Nats in Ohio in Sept so I will be ready to mix it up by then. I am very pleased with the kit and the build.
The engine is a stock 260 Zenoah and carb with a two inch band pipe and Stainless Header w/Bonzi Sports Exhaust Manifold.
All Aluminum hardware was anodized by Warehouse Hobbies.
Rudder and Strut by Top Secret Boats. I like their trim tabs due to the thickness of the stainless steel ride plates
which do not bend out of shape like the thin metal on speedmaster and other dealers' products.
Gas Bag set up from American RcBoats.
The Shaft Oiler set up is from the folks at Cooper Pipes.
T-Bar, Shaft Saver, turn fin, auto bailers and other Misc. parts are from Gas Parts Plus.
Drivers are from RCBoatworks.
The Prop is a Prather 270. I have others that I have not tried but this one is considered a popular one to use.
I have a couple of Voodoo Props to try.
I sealed the boat with Z-Poxy. Believe it or not , I painted the boat with spray paint.
I primed and painted with Lustercote Spray Paint Cans. 2 coats primer, 3 coats paint, 2 coats clear, wet sanding in between coats.
After a few days of curing, I wet sanded the clear with 600, 800, and then 1500 grit.
After that I used red rubbing compound, then white polishing compound, then added the decals and then the final Waxing.
I am really proud of the results. Everyone thought it was a Gel-Coat Hull until they looked in the engine compartment and saw Wood.
Keep me updated on the Hydro Kit.
Thanks,
Peter B.
